The 15th Annual Fargo Film Festival will kickoff Tuesday morning, March 3rd, with an opening press conference at the Historic Fargo Theatre and will include an appearance by John Waters.

The Fargo Film Festival averages more than 200 submissions from 32 states and 15 countries, according to FargoFilmFestival.org, and the festival's home base is the Fargo Theatre.

The mission of the Fargo Film Festival is quite simple, according to FargoFilmFestival.org:

  • Provide an extraordinary opportunity for filmmakers’ work to be shown on the big silver screen in a beautifully restored, state of the art, 870 seat Art Deco Theatre.
  • Provide informational and provocative presentations and panel discussions on issues affecting local, regional, national and international filmmaking and filmmakers.
  • Jury films in categories including Animation, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short, Experimental, Narrative Feature, Narrative Short, and Student.

This year's event will feature showings of films like 'The Overnighters' (March 3rd), 'The House on Pine Street' (March 4th), 'It Follows' (March 6th), and 'This Filthy World: Filthier and Dirtier' (March 7th), which stars legendary director John Waters.
