Judge Bret Kavanaugh's accuser - the first one - has agreed to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee, while a second accuser has come forward.

The New York Times reported Monday lawyers for Christine Blasey Ford reached final agreement with committee representatives on Sunday for Dr. Blasey to testify.

“Despite actual threats to her safety and her life, Dr. Ford believes it is important for senators to hear directly from her about the sexual assault committed against her,” her lawyers said in a statement.

Republican Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said Sunday that it was unlikely that Dr. Blasey’s testimony would change his mind. He has accused Democrats of "taking advantage" of her.

The issue took an even murkier turn over the weekend when The New Yorker reported on a new allegation of "sexual impropriety": A woman who went to Yale with Judge Kavanaugh said, "during a drunken dormitory party their freshman year, he exposed himself to her, thrust his penis into her face and caused her to touch it without her consent."

Judge Kavanaugh denied the allegation from the second woman, calling it “a smear, plain and simple.”
