Authorities say the man in custody for Wednesday's bank robbery in downtown Bismarck has a long history of run-ins with law enforcement.

KXMB-TV News reports Rondal Heitsch faces charges of robbery and terrorizing after he allegedly walked into the downtown Starion Bank Wednesday morning and demanded money.

He claimed to have a bomb in his satchel.

Police arrested the suspect as he was leaving the building. Streets in the area were cordoned off by the police for a period.

Rondal Heitsch is no stranger to local law enforcement. Investigators say he robbed Bremer Bank in Bismarck in 2016. Officers found him under the Expressway bridge. He was convicted for the robbery and sentenced to five years in prison.

According to KXMB, "There are no federal court documents filed, on why Heitsch is currently out of prison, just two years later."

Mr. Hetsch has a history of charges and convictions dating back to at least 1991.
