The Bismarck Fire Department responded to a fire on Thursday (Oct. 6) night at 8:22pm on Koch Drive.

Firefighters arrived on scene to find a fire coming from the bottom level window as well as the upper deck level at the back of the house at 2021 Koch Drive.

Firefighters extinguished both fires while preventing the upper level fire from spreading into the attic. The fire was contained to the south unit of the twin home.

Residents in the south unit were displaced and the Crisis Care Chaplaincy Program provided assistance.

Residents in the north unit were displaced for just one night as a precaution. The estimated cost of the fire damage was $250,000 and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
