Just one year after a burst water pipe flooded the Kirkwood Mall, its owners have announced a large renovation project to be completed this year.

According to the Bismarck Tribune, the commons areas will be renovated while the public restrooms and south entrance will be redesigned. CBL Properties will use insurance money for the new improvements. The renovation process will happen during overnight hours so that day-to-day business operations will not be interfered with.

General Manager Jennifer WIlson hopes the new improvements will provide a 'more comfortable venue for the community to shop and socialize.'

Most common areas will receive new porcelain tile flooring. The remodeling will also include new seating and tables equipped with charging stations for electronic devices.

The total cost of the renovations to Kirkwood Mall are unknown at this time, but the project is expected to be completed in October.
