Former NDSU Cornerback CJ Smith did not get drafted but he signed on with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Smith performed really well at his Pro Day and received high praise from his coaches at NDSU.

The Eagles took QB Carson Wentz second overall in the draft and the Eagles opted to sign another NDSU player to try and improve their defense.

Smith becomes the third NDSU player this year to get picked up by an NFL team. Carson Wentz was drafted by the Eagles and Joe Haeg was drafted by the Colts.

Wentz on Twitter expressed his joy of having CJ Smith remain his teammate.
