Bismarck will contribute to a longer life! That's if you want to believe the findings at 24/7 Wall St.

24/7 Wall St. recently released a survey of the city in every state with the shortest life expectancy. You'll be glad to know, Bismarck was not at the top of that list which means, lucky you (and me) we'll get to enjoy our Social Security. Sometime there are lists you don't want to be at the top of, this would be on of those lists.

Unfortunately, the people in the beautiful city of Grand Forks, ND top the list of the city with the shortest life expectancy in the state. Even though the life expectancy is still not bad at 78 years old.

For the first time, the life expectancy rate has dropped in the nation since 1995.

Surprisingly, Grand Forks is a beautiful and vibrant city on the river, has a college and seems from all appearances to have much going for it. You'd think the quality of life would be nice, which should equate to a longer life expectancy in comparison to, let's say Watford City.

You can read more on the methodology here, it's just another reason why we love Bismarck.
