I94 Project Nearing the End Thanks To Dry Summer Weather
You've been waiting and safely merging, slowing for workers and at times coming to a complete stop during the I94 highway and bridge project. Your patience will soon pay off as KFYR-TV is reporting the highway department says the end is near.
The DOT says the end of the project is near completion and is finishing ahead of time mainly due to the hot and dry weather the area experienced during the summer months. We had very few rain delay days this past summer which kept the project on time.
The DOT hopes to have the I94 project complete and open to free-flowing traffic by the second week of November.
The other contributing factor for the on-time completion of the project were in fact due in large part to the community's safe driving through the construction area.
Fear not though, phase 2 of the I94 project will start up in the summer of 2018.
