We’ll never get to see that series of 2016 election ads starring Terry Crews, but there’s still good news for fans of President Camacho and Mike Judge’s Idiocracy. The 2006 cult classic comedy is celebrating its 10th anniversary by returning to theaters this October, just one month ahead of the presidential election — you know, just in case you need a little boost of humor (or a scarily prescient reminder) before you head into the voting booth.

The 10th anniversary of Idiocracy falls just before this year’s election, appropriately enough, and what better way to celebrate than by revisiting Mike Judge’s hilarious and strangely accurate satire of our not-so-distant future? Lucky for you, Alamo Drafthouse has teamed up with Art House Convergence Theaters and the local League of Women Voters chapters to bring the cult classic back to theaters for one night only.

Director Mike Judge and Maya Rudolph will be in attendance at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica on October 4 at 6:45PM PST, with the post-screening Q&A simulcast to various theaters across the country. Even if you can’t make it to one of the theaters listed below, you can still participate in the fun by watching the movie at home at 7:00PM PST; afterwards, click over to the Alamo Drafthouse Facebook page to watch a live stream of the Q&A. And if you aren’t at the Aero screening in Santa Monica, you can submit your questions via Twitter using the #IdiocracyToday hashtag.

In addition, the Mondo team has created a new Idiocracy t-shirt for the event, with all proceeds from sales going to the local League of Women Voters chapters to support their non-partisan efforts to register and educate voters. That shirt will be available for purchase via the official website.

The Drafthouse will continue to update the above list with additional participating theaters at drafthouse.com/idiocracy.
