Bismarck Water Utilities is warning residents of the risk of lead in city drinking water.

KX News says though water from the treatment plant doesn't have lead in it, the water flowing through lead service lines could be contaminated.

The city of Bismarck is advising you, especially if you have an older home, to get your water tested.

For information about testing contact the  Minnesota Valley Testing Laboratory or North Dakota Department of Health, or call Bismarck Public Works at 701-355-1700.
