Firefighters responded to a fire at Pallet Green Recycling in Williston on Tuesday night.

Williston Rural Fire Department crews were dispatched at 8:27 p.m. by the Williams County Dispatch Center to the 5100 block of 134th Ave NW, also known as County Road 9, following a report of a fire at an industrial site.

When crews arrived, they found that a large portion of the Pallet Green Recycling supply yard had been destroyed, though the main building remained intact.

The City of Williston Fire Department was requested for mutual aid at 8:49 p.m. and responded with Tender 1 and Tender 3. Additional support was requested from the Trenton Volunteer Fire Department and the Epping Rural Fire Protection District.

Authorities said multiple roads in the area were closed to ensure public safety and allow emergency crews access to the scene. The public was asked to avoid the area while crews worked.

Williston Fire Department units on scene included Tender 1, Tender 3, Medic 1 and command staff. Off-duty personnel were recalled to maintain staffing for additional emergency calls.

To support coverage within Williston, the Alamo Volunteer Fire Department and the Tioga Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Department provided tender apparatus for standby operations.
