Finally, we may get a break and dodge the bullet in the next late spring snow storm, but it is vital to stay up to date on this system if you have travel palns South of the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Bismarck, the Bis-Man region is in the low risk category of major snow accumulations.

The current forecast is now calling for a dusting of snow with accumulations from 1-2 inches locally.

If you are traveling South into or near the state line of South Dakota, you need to stay up to date on the weather as most of the energy of this system will be concentrated to that area.

Four inches or more snow is still expected along the North Dakota-South Dakota border, including Grant, Bowman, Hettinger, Slope, Grant, Sioux and possibly southern Morton counties.

It is important to note, the Bismarck area is on the fringe of this system and is worth staying weather ready in case the system drifts north, if this should take place, our amounts of snow will increase.

Today, you can expect a wintery mix with a majority of the wet mix for your commute home after work this afternoon, which could include Bismarck. No major snow is expected, but some ice accumulation is possible.
