Meteor Shower, Look to the Sky!

Staying up past midnight will pay off as the Perseids Meteor shower will take place on the nights of Aug 12th and 13th.

The best viewing in Bismarck will take place right before dawn each night. No special equipment is needed for the Perseid as the evening and early morning will be a dark moonless night and as many as 100 sightings an hour.

These are the types of falling stars that leave a huge and large trail behind each meteor. For the best sightings,  go to a rural area, away from the city light and that should increase the chances of seeing the Perseid meteor shower.
