BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The New Year in North Dakota may be ringing in with a bigger bang than in past years.

The Legislature passed a law this year that allows fireworks to be sold from the day following Christmas through New Year's Day.

Until this year, licensed businesses could only sell fireworks from June 27 through July 5.

Fireworks may be sold to any North Dakotan who is at least 12 years old.
