After having their first round game suspended until Saturday afternoon, NDSU beat the 10th ranked Sooners in Norman, OK, by a final score of 3-2 in 9 innings.

Tabby Heinz hit an RBI single to center field that scored Montana DeCamp to put the Bison ahead in the top of the 9th. OU was unable to score off Jacquelyn Sertic in the bottom half and NDSU had completed the upset.

Earlier in the game, the Bison jumped on top in the first inning with a 2-run home run from Vanessa Anderson. Oklahoma would tie it up in the bottom of the 6th on a 2-run single by Fale Aviu, before going to extra innings.

Sertic pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits, and striking out six.

NDSU advances to take on Tulsa in the semifinals of the regional at 5:30 this evening. The game can be streamed on ESPN3.

It's the first time since 1985 that the defending national champion has lost their first game in the NCAA Tournament.
