North Dakota Millennials Have Mastered The Art of Escaping Home

According to a new report from the US Census Bureau, not too many North Dakota millennials are finding themselves living at home with their parents.

The report showed that in 2015, 34.1 percent of 18 to 34 year olds lived in their parents home. In today's uncertain economy, the trend of millennials moving in with their parents is becoming increasingly common due to the competitive job market as well as many companies cutting budgets and jobs.

New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, which make up the 'New York Tri-State Area,' had the highest rate of 18 to 34 year olds living at home with each of those three states having at least 40 percent of that demographic living with their parents.

However, in North Dakota, just 14.1 percent of 18 to 34 year olds live with their parents which is well below the national average.
