NORTHGATE, N.D. (AP) — Authorities have identified a man who died in a crash following a police chase in northern North Dakota.

Thirty-four-year-old Dustin Hoffman, of Sherwood, was pronounced dead at the scene on a Burke County road about 3 miles east of Northgate on Friday evening.

The patrol says Hoffman fled from officers who tried to stop him in Bottineau County. The chase went through Renville County and into Burke County, where his vehicle went into the ditch on a curve in the roadway. The vehicle vaulted over an approach, went airborne and landed in a field.
