The Jewish Festival of Lights are now illuminating the North Dakota State Capitol.

The fourth day of Hanukkah was marked today with a public menorah lighting as a fifth candle was lit. Chabad North Dakota is celebrating for the fifth year at the capitol building.

The ancient victory of the Israelites over the Greeks is what is celebrated from Hanukkah. The candles burning represent the eight nights that the oil that burnt in the ancient Temple.

Senator Heidi Heitkamp took part in the festivities celebrating the Jewish holiday. The display is currently open for public viewing at the capitol building.
