Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 45th President of the United States on Friday and around the country there has been much opposition.

President-Elect Trump has in the past made statements that are offensive to women and a national movement is taking place for women to march in solidarity and let the incoming President know that further comments against women will not be tolerated.

The Official Women's March in Washington D.C. begins at 1:15pm ET on Saturday following a rally that begins at 10am ET.

Saturday of course will be the first full official day of Donald Trump's Presidency.

However, nationwide there are also multiple 'sister marches' taking place and one of those will happen right here in Bismarck. The March in Bismarck is not necessarily meant to be in direct opposition of President-Elect Trump. According to the Bismarck March's Facebook Event:

Here in North Dakota, we also face strong local opposition to equality and protections for all. The Legislature is controlled by lawmakers who are hostile to the rights of women and others whose freedoms they would like to curtail. No matter what happens at the federal level, in our state and local governments, we can respect our local values. This march shows both the national and state leaders that we stand up for women, immigrants, Muslims, LGBTQ people, and others who are being threatened by the new administration.

The event on Facebook currently lists 299 people as 'attending' as of this writing. The march is taking place from 1pm to 2pm at the Capitol building.

Individuals in Fargo and Jamestown can take a bus to the event in Bismarck. The bus leaves Fargo at 9am and will stop in Jamestown at approximately 10:30am. The bus will return to Fargo by 6pm.

Trump earned the vote of nearly 63 percent of North Dakota voters and won the state's three electoral votes.
