Highway fatalities are on the rise in North Dakota. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, 160 people had died on North Dakota roads this year prior to Wednesday. That far surpasses the totals from recent years. Last year, 148 people died on roads in the state, 105 died in 2010, 140 in 2009, 104 in 2008 and 111 in 2007. The crash on the Interstate 94 near Jamestown (reported here by the Tribune) is just one example of how our roads are getting more dangerous. Some areas no doubt need added safety measures, i.e. traffic lights, stop signs, etc., to accommodate the heavier traffic in our state.

What, in your opinion, is the most dangerous stretch of road in the Bismarck-Mandan area?
