Two Underwood residents died as a result of a head on collision Tuesday night on Highway 83, North of Bismarck.

According to State Police, Tuesday, about 6 p.m., officers responded to a report of a head on crash on Highway 83 North near milepost 97. The driver died from his injuries, a 36 year old male and a passenger, a 29 year old female from Underwood. According to reports, a Ford was traveling north Highway 83 and a Jeep was heading South when the Ford crossed the center line and struck the Jeep head on. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was the Jeep was transported to the hospital for treatment. Authorities was still investigating this accident.

In a unrelated story, Wednesday morning, icy conditions made it sketchy traveling as several accidents were being reported though out the city of Bismarck. The National Weather Service issues a freezing rain advisory in the 8 a.m. hour until 11 a.m.. Authorities reported 26 accidents before 8 a.m. today.
