If you operate or run a corporation in today's society, there are certain things you don't want to do or can't do. You definitely don't want an image of something that could be misrepresented by the general public. Once something like that goes viral, then you have to work hard to win back the respect and confidence of your customers and the general public.

Take United Airlines, who is in the middle of a public relations nightmare for leaving a pet on the tarmac in the pouring, cold rain. Everyone has a camera phone, access to the internet and their social media account.

Here we have Passenger Barbara Galletly, a passenger on United, snapped a picture and took to Twitter with the image of a pet dog carrier, on the tarmac in the cold poring rain:

She snapped the picture through a wet plane window covered with raindrops, clearly showing the pooch sitting in a crate on a rain-soaked tarmac.

Twitter went crazy, and the only reply from UA was- "Thanks for telling us. The weather can change & may have been clear when PetSafe dropped off. They're the ones to call too."

Not really the best response and by the way, passing the buck!

Just to be clear, PetSafe is the UA service for transporting pets.

Barbara's pet image and tweet has been re-tweeted over 1000 times in a short time.

You can read the Twitter thread and see how outraged people are.

What do you think? Good move by United or much talk about nothing?
