Water Park of America in Minneapolis will shut down at the end of January. The Radisson Hotel and Water Park has been sold.  Great Wolf Resorts from Wisconsin has bought the hotel and water park. The plans are to renovate the 403 rooms in the hotel and the water park will be updated to include a new bar, rope course and a rock climbing wall  along with other attractions. The water park will still be open but only to hotel guests.

Water Park of America used to sell day passes to the general public, but Great Wolf Resorts operate their water parks differently. The company also owns and operates the Wisconsin Dells and has 15 other water parks making them the largest water park company in U.S. and Canada.

Many families from Bismarck and North Dakota would make the water park a weekend or a week long vacation destination.

The rumors of a sale has been circulation for months. The Radisson will lay off over 125 people.
