I don't know about you, but the word "Closed" seems to be sadly spreading

All around North Dakota, almost every day on social media we read about another place that has either made an announcement of an upcoming closing date OR they are reducing their hours of operation considerably - some businesses just buckle under the stress of worrying about an understaffed place of work, the headaches of trying to stay open - some restaurants have felt the "Crunch" of more and more services featuring DoorDash and the convenience of that, taking away actual customers filling up their restaurant. Just when we relax a little bit, we get the sad news, like this ICON in Fargo.

So many people have been to this restaurant throughout the years and a million memories are waiting to be shared

The Mexican Village shared a sad announcement recently on their Facebook page about their future:

"Mexican Village reluctantly announces the closing of the Downtown location at 814 Main Ave. and will consolidate all operations at the 45th St. S location. This move will happen 2/1/2023.
The owners want to thank the millions of customers who have allowed us to serve them over the past 52 years. We would like to invite any Downtown customers to visit the 45th location, all gift certificates are valid no matter where they were purchased. We also want to thank the thousands of employees who have been a part of the Mexican Village family over the years and will offer positions to current employees who would like to move to the south location.
The property is available for lease as a fully furnished restaurant or for any other purpose..."

Just another sign of the sad times we are in right now.....
