A Guide to Ignoring St. Patrick’s Day in Bismarck-Mandan
St. Patrick's Day is a lot of fun for a lot of people. But it's not for everyone.
Friday will be filled with many St. Patrick's Day themed events and many people will be observing the holiday in the way they see fit.
Many individuals like to dress in green, go out to the bars, and have a good time. But the St. Patrick's Day bar scene isn't for everyone and you may be wondering if there is anything you can do on Friday that is fun, but not St. Patrick's Day related.
Fortunately for you, there are plenty of non St. Patrick's Day events taking place. We've highlighted a few of them below.
The Champions Indoor Football League has arrived in Bismarck and the Bucks are playing in their first season. The Bucks have already played two road games and now will play at the Bismarck Event Center for the first time in the franchise's history.
It is a great family-friendly event and who doesn't want to get their football fix with the NFL season now over?
Certainly we expect spectators to show up to the game wearing green and many will consume alcohol. But the Event Center is probably a more controlled environment than your average bar. Plus St. Patrick's Day will not be the main focus. The game will be the focal point.
The game starts at 7pm.
The Bobcats only have four home games left this season so this is one of your last opportunities to see them in action. They will also play at the VFW Center on March 18, April 7 and April 8.
Puck drop on Friday night is slated for 7:15pm.
If you are looking to party Friday night but would prefer a non St. Patrick's Day theme, maybe an 80s party is more your style. Proceeds from this event will go to the Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation. You can get tickets here.
The night will feature an 80s prom theme and you are of course encouraged to dress the part. Of course there will be a buffet featuring the great Brazilian BBQ that Harvest Brazilian Grill has to offer. See more details on their Facebook Event Page.
Doors to this event open at 5:30 with a buffet at 6pm. The buffet will be followed by a show and patrons are encouraged to come dressed in 50s attire. There will be prizes awarded to the best dressed.
8am - 5pm
This is for someone looking for something quieter and maybe wants to end their day a bit early. During normal business hours at the North Dakota Heritage Center, the talents of the Capital Quilters of Bismarck will be on display.
If you can't get to the Heritage Center during the day Friday, the display continues through the whole weekend.
