An Audit of the North Dakota Department of Human Services finds "the agency allowed child care providers to continue to operate despite having knowledge of inappropriate activities."

KXMB reports the State Auditor's office charges the Department of Human Services with "not properly monitoring or suspending providers."

The Auditor's office also faults the department for not notifying parents of situations that "jeopardized the health and safety of children."

The audit found the department allowed certain providers to continue operation despite allegations of activities that included "inappropriate touching from adults" and use of illegal drugs.
