Bismarck Designated a ‘Playful City’
There were 257 cities across the country that made the list in recognition for 'making it easy for all kids to get balanced and active play in their neighborhoods and for pledging to integrate play as a solution to the challenges facing their communities' according to KaBoom!
This is the 7th time that Bismarck has made the list and it is the only city in North Dakota to make this year's list.
This designation comes just after the Bismarck Parks and Recreation department was named one of four finalists for the 2016 National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) Gold Medal Award for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management according to a Bismarck Parks and Recreation news release.
This is the 10th year that KaBoom! has named 'Playful Cities' across the US.
