BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The Bismarck Park Board has approved the purchase of a 50,000-square-foot competitive swimming facility.

The Bismarck Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1jqxXoH ) that the board approved the final purchase agreements for the Bismarck State College Aquatic and Wellness Center for $8.68 million.

A nonprofit foundation financed the project, which was built on land donated by the college.

The Park District purchased the facility through two revenue bond sales.

Parks and Recreation Director Randy Bina says the bonds will be repaid over 20 years from revenue earned by the Park District.
