The Bismarck Police Department has been very busy with over 37,000 calls to the dispatch center last year. That is a record number of calls.

The city saw a record number of crimes in 2015 in almost every area. Most of the calls come in from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m.  In response to this, the city will bring on an additional 8 officers to work the city. Plus the department will create a new shift for officers, which include a 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. shift to address this busy crime time.

The new officers will start the application process in October and will be brought in by January 2017.
