CDHS will be traveling to Kansas City, MO to pick up about 20 dogs that are in need of a dry home and shelter from the hurricane effective area. These dogs will be transported to the shelter.

The shelter is asking for donations to help in the transition for these 20 dogs.

If you would like to donate items or make a financial donation, contact the Central Dakota Humane Society.

Once these dogs are processed and are in good health, they will be available for adoption. There could be a second trip in the near future.

The dogs being transported to North Dakota are dogs already in shelters in the South. This will allow those shelters additional room for any displaced animal effected by the hurricane.

CDHS plans to meet a transport in Kansas City later in the week and transport the animals to the shelter in Mandan.
