Commentary: Did Shirvani Get A Fair Shake?

It’s crystal clear that Will Rogers never met Hamid Shirvani. 

On a personal level, few will miss the man (story here from the Fargo Forum).

That being said, we all know how things work in this state.  The question in my mind is this: how much of the Shirvani issue is due to cultural factors?

Shirvani has been described as ‘forward” and “arrogant.”  Of course the same has been said of a lot of people who dared to question the okeydoke in this state.

Or, to render it down even further: how much of the problem was the fact that he’s not a good ol’ boy from Nurth Dakoter?

I believe I’m entitled to an answer.
