FARGO, N.D. (AP) — A man found guilty of murder in Fargo 22 years ago is seeking a new trial.

Reginald Tweed is serving a life sentence for killing 32-year-old Terry Dorff by hitting him five times in the head with a 17-pound rock, after Dorff allegedly made sexual advances while they were drinking in Dorff's apartment.

Tweed's attorney, Thomas Tuntland, said during a hearing Monday in East Central District Court that Tweed's former attorney did not do a good job of representing him during earlier appeals. The earlier attorney, Brian Nelson, and Cass County prosecutors disputed that.

District Judge Frank Racek will rule later.
