We've all been there. Whether you got pulled over for allegedly speeding in Minot or for allegedly not coming to a complete stop in Minto, it sucks. But did you know that there are four trick questions that an officer might ask you?

A lawyer recently posted a TikTok that reveals four "trick questions" that police officers will regularly use when they pull you over to get you on record for breaking the law. He also shared the best way to answer them to keep you out of trouble.

I wanted to recreate one of your videos but the Get Ready With Me didnt go as planned. 😅)  <a title="lawyer" target="_blank" href="https://www.tiktok.com/tag/lawyer?refer=embed">#lawyer</a> <a title="police" target="_blank" href="https://www.tiktok.com/tag/police?refer=embed">#police</a> <a title="cops" target="_blank" href="https://www.tiktok.com/tag/cops?refer=embed">#cops</a> <a title="texas" target="_blank" href="https://www.tiktok.com/tag/texas?refer=embed">#texas</a> <a title="didyouknow" target="_blank" href="https://www.tiktok.com/tag/didyouknow?refer=embed">#didyouknow</a> <a title="pulledover" target="_blank" href="https://www.tiktok.com/tag/pulledover?refer=embed">#pulledover</a> <a target="_blank" title="♬ goofy music - Proxitimy" href="https://www.tiktok.com/music/goofy-music-7232565187928508417?refer=embed">♬ goofy music - Proxitimy</a> </section> </blockquote> <script async src="https://www.tiktok.com/embed.js"></script>

You might be surprised to learn that all four questions seem pretty standard. If your kids were playing pretend police officers, they'd probably use them. Here they are:

  1. Do you know how fast you were going?
  2. Can we search your car?
  3. Where are you coming from?
  4. Do you know why I pulled you over?

The video explains how the way that you answer these questions can change how the interaction will go and could affect whether or not you get into trouble.

  1. Do you know how fast you were going? "I was going the speed limit."
  2. Can we search your car? "No."
  3. Where are you coming from? "Officer, I'm just trying to get home."
  4. Do you know why I pulled you over? "I do not."
