From Williston, ND to Washington D.C.: Help High School Students Make the Trip
Close-Up's high school program is like no other – it's a golden ticket to witness the magic of our government in action!
Picture this: a journey from Washington's iconic monuments to rubbing elbows with our congressional delegate on Capitol Hill. Yep, Close-Up students are diving headfirst into the American political system, figuring out their role in our democracy along the way.
Now, here's the exciting scoop: Seventy six members of the Williston High School senior class are gearing up for the Close-Up adventure to Washington D.C. March 17-21, 2025. And they've been busy fundraising to make it happen.
The students want you to join them at a pancake breakfast fundraiser on Sunday, January 12, from 9:00 am to Noon at St. Joseph's Catholic Church Gym. What's on the menu? Pancakes, sausages, juice, and coffee – all for a free-will donation!
By flipping pancakes and sipping coffee with them, you're not just treating your taste buds; you're also chipping in to help cover the trip costs for these bright students. It's a win-win – delicious breakfast and support for our local kids.
Close-Up will also host an exciting trivia competition on Sunday, January 26, at 2:00 PM at Williston High School (enter through door 9). This multi-round event welcomes teams of 1-5 players and is open to all ages. With an entry fee of just $10 per team and a prize for the winning group, it's a fun and affordable way to show off your knowledge while supporting a great cause. Gather your team, test your trivia skills, and join the fun!
