One of the saddest things I see, an empty, lonely golf course

It's especially sad here in Bismarck and Mandan. You see, I took the game of golf for granted when I lived in San Diego, California. When the weather changes out there, you can still chase that darn little white ball around all year, but come the end of October, here in town, and pretty much all over ND, Mother Nature picks up your ball for good and won't let you have it back for months.

Public golf courses to close this Friday - Halloween Friday

This morning, October 29th, I drove by an empty Tom O'Leary golf course, scattered leaves were dancing across the fairway, the sun was out, and it was a crisp 40 degrees out, sadly not a golfer in sight. The even sadder news ( and we all knew it was coming ) was announced yesterday - according to kxnet.com "Those with Bismarck Parks and Recreation announced that Bismarck’s three public golf courses Pebble Creek, Riverwood, and Tom O’Leary will be closed starting November 1. Making October 31 the last day to use the three Bismarck courses'

"Hey, you can still play golf at Fore Seasons..."

Yeah, I know, but it's not the same, obviously. Well then, it's time to take the optimistic approach - now is your ( mine ) chance to at least hit some golf balls and improve your swing INDOORS, and get ready for when we can slice the ball out of bounds at Riverwood!
