Have you ever actually been in a corn maze?

If you are even just a tad claustrophobic I wouldn't recommend it. His name is Clark Coleman, and he is known for putting one of these mind-bending mazes near Buckstop Junction. Clark had an idea to build one of these along with the cooperation of Baldwin Greenhouse and Nursery - hey make it a family event - a perfect day to come out and find yourself lost...and then once someone has stumbled upon their way out - food trucks were planned to enhance the day. One small problem though...

A permit was needed for this fun to happen, and one neighbor complained

Permits and complaints never mix well. According to kfyrtv.com "...permit was denied because of a neighbor complaint and because there is no ordinance for agritourism in the county. The greenhouse said there are no rules saying the maze can’t open" A counter-argument made perfect sense though - "“This is zoned agriculture, this is obviously agriculture. Now are we moving into tourism? Absolutely. But nobody has clearly defined the difference between agritourism commercial and agriculture,” said Mary Podoll, a volunteer at the Baldwin Greenhouse and Nursery.

Burleigh County Commissioners are planning on having a public hearing

Burleigh County Commissioner Wayne Munson has said that it matters just how many people would show up - the bottom line is that an ordinance has to be set in place so that activities can be performed - and word is that "...the corn maze is under a tight deadline"  kfyrtv.com added.

We shall see if people will get a chance to "get lost in a maze" or not soon.
