Not all sports figures "ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY"

I understand that many false beliefs are that today's superstars and athletes are only "In it just for the money" - it's not how you play the game, it's how you manage your contract. I also tend to side a little bit with the reality aspect of certain sports. For instance how many average years does a National Football Player last? The answer to that last question is pretty staggering.

If you guessed 5 years, you would be wrong ...

...according to en.as.com "The average career length of an NFL player is 3.3 years" So simple logic tells you that in that short time span, you would want to make THE most money possible - same thing with head coaches - guidingmetrics.com reported that "Over the past decade, only three coaches in the NFL have kept their job for a 10-year time period. The average tenure for an NFL coach is approximately just 3.2 years".

Coaches obviously don't get beat up physically, their stress load comes from performance - you don't WIN, YOU are gone

Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell knows all about this kind of pressure - he has only been with them since 2022 - in that time frame the Vikings have gone 13-4-0 - but for many purple and gold fans that's not good enough.

'Before I die, coach"

Simple and straight to the point - that is just another example of what O'Connell has been hearing as of late - as si.com so elegantly put it "Six decades of heartbreak weighs on the shoulders of Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell, who revealed that long-suffering fans have randomly met him in public and vented some of their pain onto him"  So much so that a recent visit to Home Depot, Kevin experienced THE pain others were feeling  " I had three or four folks come up to me and just shake my hand and say, ‘Before I die, coach.’"

Talk about pressure...

Okay...so they are 0 and 3 in pre-season play...big deal! Have faith!
