In my lifetime I have had the opportunity to be a part of 3 ride-alongs with police

The first one was in San Diego years ago, and then I tagged along with a Minot police officer, and then with a Burleigh County Sheriff Deputy almost a year ago. So maybe your question is - "Why does one want to go on a ride-along?" - First let me say what that is - Most police departments around the country have opportunities for a citizen to go out with an officer or two and experience what they do when they are out on patrol. That is a "Ride-Along" - I went out in January with Zach Bugbee   - from the moment I arrived at the station, he ran me through everything. To me it was fascinating.

Watching professionals at work is always interesting...

...and when you are in the line of duty, facing the unknown every minute, it's quite amazing that police officers take the time and patience to have us along - physically right beside them. If you have always wanted to do this, here is your chance for a VIRTUAL ride-along!

Get ready for an exciting ride TONIGHT!

Here is what North Dakota Highway Patrol posted earlier today on their Facebook Page:

"Heads up: Sgt Clawson Huibregtse will be taking you for a LIVE ride along in the Bismarck area tomorrow night (Friday) with Trooper Mehrer and Trooper Williams. Trooper Williams is currently in field training with Trooper Mehrer as his training officer. Tune in around 9:30PM Friday, November 8th in stories and on our page! What do you think we’ll find on a Friday night?"

I'm just going to end with this - I have the utmost respect for any PERSON that puts on a uniform and provides a service for our community - Police, Fire Fighters, EMTS, Ambulance Drivers, Hospital Workers - my apologies to anyone I may have left out - Thank you for what you do for us!
