The year "all the stars have lined up" and arranged for the 4th of July to fall on a Friday!

Well, doesn't it seem that way? How many times in the past have we all been having a great time, staying out late with the family, and the fireworks and then the reality sets in, we have to go back to work the next day. The best thing you can do is be prepared when you go out and take part in all the festivities this holiday brings us.

Street Closures and Traffic Guidance for Mandan’s Independence Day Festivities

This is something you definitely need to pay attention to - a press release was announced earlier today from the Mandan Police Department:

**** Street Closures****

Main Street:

  • Closed from Mandan Ave to 10th Ave NW starting at 7 a.m. until the parade concludes.
  • Sixth Ave SE: North-south traffic will be allowed until 7:45 a.m.
  • 10th Ave NW: North-South traffic will remain open but expect significant delays.

Memorial Highway:

  • West Memorial Highway, from Third Street SE to Main Street, closes at 6 a.m. for parade staging and will remain closed until after the parade.
  • The Third Street SE intersection will stay open for local traffic accessing Bisman Ave or Memorial Highway.

24th Ave SE (from Third Street SE to Memorial Highway) will be closed to local traffic from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 4.

I-94 Detours:

  • Exit 155 (Main Street) into Mandan will close at 7 a.m.
  • Use Exit 153 (Mandan Avenue) or Exit 152 (Sunset Drive) for alternate access.
  • To travel south of Mandan, use Third Street SE to avoid extended delays.

Always your best bet is to get where you want to be EARLY, and not worry about fighting all the detours at the last moment
