Saving Lives And Protecting Others In Lincoln, North Dakota
This is what they do so well, and I am grateful for them and many others
We all should be. Men and women all around the country do this every day, part of their job, and a billion times over without any fanfare whatsoever. Last night, however, a few of them were acknowledged, and that makes me happy. Police officers who put on a uniform and walk out of their homes, putting their own lives on the line.
It's quite frightening to think of how many people drink and drive - "I'm only going a mile."
Takes just a second for a lack of good judgment, someone too lazy to try and find someone to pick them up, or to simply call an Uber. Sure thing, it will never happen to them, until it does - then it's too late. Last night at the Bismarck Larks game, the Larks and Vision Zero ND paid their highest respects to a few police officers who are trained to spot drunk drivers and save lives.
