I'm still blown away by what it took to move us less than a mile away

Ok, when I say "Move", I'm not just talking about all the physical things you think of when you grab a few friends ( with a small bribe of pizza and plenty of adult beverages ) to help you relocate. I'm referring to the countless details from everything you can think of, and a zillion other things that have to happen, for us ( Bismarck/Mandan Townsquare Media ) to broadcast from a new building, new studios, and state-of-the-art equipment. It seemed like yesterday ( actually just last Friday ) that all five of our radio stations were literally around the corner.

We all knew this was happening last year

We all knew this move was going to take place, but we had no clue WHEN. We knew WHERE we were moving to:

Our FIRST official day on the air in our new digs was this past Monday. Supertalk 1270 AM, 96.5 The Walleye, Hot 975, Cool 98.7, and US 1033 lit up the radio up and down the dial here at  2401 46th AVE SE, Mandan. Let me ask you a simple question: do you have any idea what it takes to move not just one radio station, but five?

Somewhere around this past February, a team of three showed up

These three individuals came out to Mandan with one goal in mind ( actually five goals if you want to get technical ) to begin the process of moving us over to this beautiful place: James, IT specialist, Cory, an internet corporate automation genius, and Kelly - a seasoned pro, an engineer of over 30 years who has been around the country helping Townsquare Media stations move. The process is overwhelming, but not to Kelly and Cory. Both of these guys live out of state; they are here in Mandan doing something that to me seems impossible. This is just routine for these two, having once again done this all over the country - we're talking 70 markets and over 300 radio stations - AND they do it for the love of radio.

Just the rewiring and installing of our beautiful "Radio Control Surfaces" is staggering and impressive:

Cory described it perfectly, " We make the 'paint brushes' so the artists can create their passion." Kelly put it as simply as this: "Our goal is to build our infrastructure, to bring us better workflows, and take pride in what we do....it's a process."

Man, I'll say it is, for sure.

Take a couple of seconds and enjoy this tour

 On a personal note

I am still blown away and super proud to come walking up our new stairs every morning. I love being on the air and doing my best to entertain people. I really have never felt this confident and have experienced this much joy in being able "to do what I have always wanted to do"  - and that to me is what life is all about. Cory and Kelly have a HUGE part of that, thank you, guys!  I've never had this much fun in over 36 years of radio."

Feel free to enjoy a "behind the scenes" look at an attempt at a coffee break here at work
