Here is a deadly fact - people STILL believe they can drive home - no matter what

"I'm fine, I only had a few beers"...some things never change. With all of the resources we have to keep our roads safe from drunk driving, people STILL believe they can drive home ..... even if it's only a couple of miles - blocks - streets. Sadly innocent people die every day to those who choose to make the ultimate fatal mistake. Thankfully we have people here in North Dakota committed to reaching an inspiring goal.

Vision Zero is North Dakota’s traffic safety initiative to end motor vehicle fatalities on North Dakota roads

ND Sober Ride is a program under the Vision Zero umbrella to help eliminate impaired drivers to help us reach our goal of zero fatalities and serious injuries. St. Patrick's Day weekend is another dangerous time when people go into a bar or a party without a simple plan  - a PLAN  of common sense and safety -  Here is an example of people who care...According to visionzero.nd.gov:

"ND Sober Ride, a Vision Zero program to remove impaired drivers from North Dakota roads, will offer discounted Lyft rides, where available, in time for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. Codes will be available from March 15-17, or while codes last. Use Lyft code “VZPATS24” to get $10 off your ride.   Codes are sponsored by AAA – The Auto Club Group. Companies interested in becoming a part of the solution can sponsor ND Sober Ride by contacting NDDOT Safety Public Information Program Manager, lwahlman@nd.gov."

Listen, I believe people should never be ashamed to admit they have had too much to drink, there is no shame in that. THIS SAYS IT ALL -  "Many lives would be saved in North Dakota each year if every driver consistently makes the choice to always drive sober, designate a sober driver or use a ride-hailing service"
