The 3 Worst Things Your Neighbor Can Do in Bismarck-Mandan
If you live in Bismarck-Mandan, you're all too familiar with the fact that neighbors can be challenging. Some of us live on the outskirts of town, so we don't often interact with our neighbors.
Those of you who fall into this category are living the dream. Most Bismarck-Mandan residents live right on top of one another, and that can be challenging — it's a true test of patience.
Due to this close proximity, I've compiled a list of three things your North Dakota neighbor should never do.
1. Park In Your Spot
I've just moved, so this is no longer an issue for me, but my heart goes out to those who still face this problem.
If you are parking in your neighbor's driveway or in their usual or most sensible parking spot, you're the worst. Stop the nonsense.

2. Warm Your Car
Look, we don't mind if you start your car a little early in the morning, after all, it gets damn cold in Bismarck-Mandan, but for the love of GAWWD, your music better not be blasting in your car.
I had neighbors who always did this. Every morning at 6 am, they would warm up their car, and I'd hear Lil Wayne oldies bumping into my bedroom—honestly, not the worst way to wake up.
3. Ask For Tools
No, I don't know you like that. Never lend out your tools to neighbors. Don't put yourself in that awkward situation where so much time has passed that you feel uncomfortable asking for it back. Tools go out, but when lent to neighbors, they seldom come back in.
Those are just a few rules I've come up with, but I could probably list out a hundred more. Point of story, be a good neighbor, which in my book means, give a friendly wave here and there, but mostly leave me alone.
