It's hard to believe that we're already winding down the summer and getting ready to send the kids back to school, but we're seeing it everywhere.

The grocery stores are loading on on school supplies, we're getting emails from the schools, summer programs are ending, etc.

Even if you don't have school-age kids right now, you might still be curious as to when students will get back to hitting the books and buses are back out on the roads.

Here's what we found for the 2025-2026 year.

Bismarck Public Schools posted a calendar to its website, and it looks like the first day of school will be here before you know it. For all Bismarck schools (High school and elementary), the official first day of school is Tuesday, August 19th.

According to the Mandan High School website, school will start for the Braves on that same day, Tuesday, August 19th.

Registration days are as follows:

Mandan High School

Monday, August 11th - Senior Registration @ 8:30 am

Monday, August 11th - Junior Registration @ 12:30 pm

Tuesday, August 12th - Sophomore Registration @ 8:30 am

Wednesday, August 13th - Freshman Registration @ 8:30 am and 12:30 pm

Mandan Middle School

Wednesday, August 13th - 6th Grade Open House @ 3:00 to 6:00 pm

Thursday, August 14th - 7th & 8th Grade Open House @ 4:00 to 6:00 pm

 

NOTE: Months ago, local school districts announced a new daily schedule for several schools in Bismarck-Mandan.
