While many of us are aware of this issue and have been making changes to our lifestyles to become healthier, it's not easy.
While we know there is a serious problem in the country as a whole, how bad are obesity rates in North Dakota compared to other U.S. states? Wallethub did a study to find out which states and cities struggle the most with obesity.

Colorado and Hawaii make sense. People in those states have numerous outdoor activities, such as hiking, that they can enjoy. California and Hawaii also make sense; if that much sunshine surrounded me, I'd be outside swimming, surfing, walking and doing all kinds of physical activities.
North Dakota
So, in 2025, where does North Dakota rank? Unfortunately, North Dakota's obesity rates are incredibly high. The source put us at number 14 on the list for the most overweight and obese states.
