Santa Is Coming To Bismarck Early This Year
The Christmas holiday is 48 days, 7 hours, away - but who's counting.
If you're like me, you're already putting up decorations around the house and are excited for the holly jolly and bright holiday season ahead.
It's a magical time of year. Even though it gets cold outside and we start to get all the sleet and snow, it somehow feels warmer.
Some people might think the Christmas season doesn't start until after Thanksgiving, but not only would I disagree, but Ol' Kris Kringle would also disagree. How do I know this? Well, because he's coming to town early this year.
Origin & Age of Santa
Did you know that the tales of Santa Claus date back to 250 AD, with Saint Nicholas of Myra? That would make Santa 1755 years old today. This, according to History.com.
Now, according to PrairiePublic.org, the Santa we're used to seeing (red suit and long white beard) in the 1800s largely due to a poem written by Clement Clarke Moore. That picture of Santa Claus was later cemented with the Christmas Coca-Cola ads that ran throughout the 1930s.

Santa Coming To Bismarck
That's right, Santa will be here before you know it. According to the Kirkwood Mall's website, you will be able to take your annual photo with the man in red as soon as November 18th. The mall is allowing Bismarck residents to book photo sessions with Saint Nick all the way up to the Christmas holiday. You can book a session for the whole family, even with your pets! Get yourself signed up, and celebrate the start of the holiday season with Father Christmas himself.
