It's not often that you see such a frenzy over a children's toy. Adults and kids alike are all rushing to get a new doll that recently hit the market. It's being sold as a push toy, keychains, and even purse accessories. According to NPR.org, one of these life-sized dolls recently sold for a whopping $170,000.

Yes, people are losing their minds over this new doll; some are losing it with excitement, while others are losing it out of concern.

The new children's toy, called the "Labubu," is being sold by the Chinese toy company, POP MART. It's making quite the splash all over the world. Just recently, I've noticed several North Dakotans with these new Labubu plushies.

It's a mean, mischievous-looking little creature, to be sure, but is it evil? According to Daily Mail, many people think so, and want to keep their kids far away from it.

You might think they look like the monsters from "Where the Wild Things Are," but they're not. They're not Pokémon's either.

According to NPR.org the creator, Kasing Lung, originally from Hong Kong, moved to the Netherlands at age 7. Living there, here learned about all kinds of Nordic mythology and urban legends. This, according to the source, is where he drew inspiration for his children's book, "The Monsters". He describes the fictional characters as elves, but many think it goes much deeper, and that the characters and accompanying dolls are something the children of the world should not have nor cherish.

According to the Daily Mail, many believe the dolls are evil. You can see people posting videos on TikTok where they're dousing them in Holy Water, burning them, and tearing them apart.

Why?

Well, many believe this doll is based off of a demon named, Pazuzu. The source says Pazuzu is a malevolent force, the same one that possesses Regan in the 1973 Exorcist movie. Take a look at this TikTok, explaining the theory.
