Delta Unveils A New Airbus For Its Bismarck Passengers
Delta has a NEW Plane for its Bismarck Passengers
Delta Airlines has a shiny toy that they are excited for their customers to try out. Introducing the Airbus A220. According to KARE 11 TV in Minneapolis, this will be a huge upgrade for its passengers as Delta is trying to change the perception of regional jet service.
What these Planes are Replacing
The Airbus A220 is meant to replace the CRJ-900 fleet, which is the plane where you can never fit your carry-on bag in the overhead bin space. Not only that, but you are usually required to check your carry-on bag at the gate on those planes. Don't you just hate that? They are called carry-on bags for a reason, yet the CRJ-900 planes think differently.
Which Airports in North Dakota will see the Airbus A220?
It looks like Bismarck is the only airport in the state that will have this new luxury liner in the sky for the time being. This plane will depart weekdays from Bismarck to Minneapolis at 8:04 am. There will be a weekend departure at 10 am on Saturdays and Sundays.
Delta began non-stop jet service from Fargo to Atlanta in late 2025, but as of right now, this route is being served by the CRJ900 regional jet rather than the Airbus A220.
What's Special About the Airbus A220?
Wider seats (18.6" main cabin seats), much larger overhead bin space, so no more having to check your carry-on bag, larger windows, personal power ports, a smoother ride, plenty of seat-back entertainment, and even a bathroom with a window in it.
Here is a recent post from the Bismarck Airport on Delta's new plane.
Sounds like a much better plane, and more bang for your buck. Now, if I could only afford to fly.
