Jon Gruden Gives a LOT of Love to North Dakota Hockey

In a video that was just dropped yesterday on his Facebook page, the former Super Bowl-winning coach received a goodie box from the University of North Dakota hockey team and head coach Dane Jackson. The box was filled with North Dakota hockey gear like sweatpants, t-shirts, sweatshirts, an autographed official team hockey jersey, tennis shoes, and even a UND hockey helmet.

Gruden Sounded Like a True North Dakota Hockey Fan

As he did a lot of name-dropping of current and former UND hockey greats such as T.J. Oshie, Jonathan Toews, Brock Nelson, Ed Belfour, Mike Commodore, Zach Parise, and his current favorite NHL player, Brock Boeser (mine too).

Gruden talked about the tradition of North Dakota hockey, and how the team is currently in first place in the NCHC with a 17-5 overall record, and how the Fighting Hawks have been a top 5 team in the country all season. He also mentioned UND's pivotal weekend series coming up against heated rival and second-place Denver this weekend in Grand Forks.

Coach Gruden Even Received an Invitation from UND Coach Dane Jackson

In a handwritten letter, Coach Jackson tells Gruden how the team admires Gruden's fire and passion he attacks the day with, and invites Jon to Grand Forks to watch a game in the best rink in the NCAA, the Ralph Engelstad Arena. It certainly sounded like Gruden plans to accept the offer. Check out the love for North Dakota hockey below for yourself.
