A Senseless Tragic Accident

The city of Mandan and the entire Capital Region continue to mourn the loss of two Mandan teens who were killed in an automobile accident on the evening of Friday, October 2nd. Over my lunch hour today, I visited the scene of the accident on Main Avenue and Missouri Avenue that took the lives of 16-year-old Taylor Fisher and 17-year-old Benjamin Moch, both of Mandan. They were boyfriend and girlfriend, and both played hockey for Mandan High School.

I bowed my head in prayer, and as a father myself, I can't imagine the pain the Fisher and Moch families are going through. I could feel their grief as I looked at the Memorial created for these two teens by their family and friends. As a former hockey dad, player, and coach, as I looked at the hockey sticks, flowers, and stuffed animals, it took my breath away.

A Disgusting Scam

I came across a post from Mandan Hockey Club that described a scam on GoFundMe. Please share this with your friends. This is a FAKE GoFundMe account set up by somebody impersonating the Moch family. It has nothing to do with Ben. PLEASE, do not donate to this page. As of this morning, over 700 dollars had already been given.

How some lowlife could stoop to this level and try to capitalize on this tragic loss of life, I can't even comprehend. I would like to think there isn't that kind of evil in the world, but apparently, I'm wrong. Please spread the word not to fall for this scam, and rest in peace, Taylor and Ben.
